In the Fall of '10 after taking a spirited trip thru the Adirondacks I returned to my garage, shut off the car and heard a metallic "TINK!" as I walked away. Curiously, I looked around but did not find anything. a few days later I tucked it away for the Winter nap. After awaking my love in the Spring of '11, I noticed a little more exhaust noise coming from the engine compartment. Upon close inspection, a crack in the turbine housing was found! A turbo rebuild was in order anyway, so off it went to Illinois where Nick Williams worked his magic. The turbo was updated to a F flow compressor and a turbine switched to a B flow. Right about this time, Don Kellog put his 40DCOE Weber with Leveque secondary on the market. Mid-summer '12 the UPS man delivered that to Adams, NY. After a good month of venturi, main jet, air corrector tuning, I am really enjoying this new setup! I am enjoying 10 psi boost in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. It is not prefect yet, but close. |
This is what "TINK" looks like... | |
