It is common to see the front of our cars a couple of inches higher than the rear even with a full tank of fuel. Some cut a coil or two and adjust the alignment accordingly. This stiffens the ride because the spring rate goes up as the active coils are reduced. I for one like the way the corvair is sprung. So when it came time to rebuild the front suspension I installed a set of 2" dropped spindles from a S-10 pickup. The lower ball joint taper required a bushing but the center to center dimension is very close. Fringe benefits include disc brakes! The cast steering arm (from the S-10) was cut off and holes were added to retain my quick steering arms. Switching from drums to disks puts more unsprung weight on the suspension. To help counter this, I installed aluminum calipers. I replaced the rotted rubber with polyurathane. I am very happy with the feel and responce. The caliper placement forced me to switch to 15" rims for clearance. I chose 3rd generation camaro rims with 205 60 R15 tires. The grey nearly matches the Corsa cove. Bonus!

This is the left side. The spindle is drilled for the speedometer cable. Also, you can see the bushing on the lower ball joint taper.
